The lyrics originate from conversations with Mick & Fiona Byrne, and an unknown man I met on the DART many years ago. These conversations helped me to learn to try to view things in a positive light as much as possible, and to become content with where I am, no matter where I am. The chorus contains a bit of bravado towards other bands we gigged with in our early years, intimating that we would show what we could do on stage when the chips were down. We were wrong.
